The St. Nicholas Market in Heusenstamm attracts thousands of visitors every year on the second weekend of Advent. From the historic gatehouse and the church square of St. Cecilia's Parish Church, along Schlossstrasse with its beautiful half-timbered houses, all the way to the castle grounds, you'll find the traditionally and lovingly decorated market stalls. Incidentally, tradition is paramount at the St. Nicholas Market. Over 100 stalls offering wooden toys, candles, floral arrangements, handcrafted items, jewelry, knitted goods, and much more contribute to the market's special atmosphere. Younger visitors are drawn to the Twinning Square, where a children's carousel awaits them.
At numerous stalls spread throughout the market area, visitors can enjoy a wide variety of culinary delights and specialties. These food stalls are primarily run by Heusenstamm clubs and associations. The proceeds benefit their work. In addition, various organizations present themselves, donating their proceeds to charitable causes. Heusenstamm's twin towns are also usually represented.
The musical program is usually provided by choirs and music clubs from Heusenstamm. Many visitors use these musical performances to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and get into the pre-Christmas spirit.
