30 May 2025
On Friday 30 and Saturday 31 May 2025 Heusenstamm hosted representatives of its sister towns St Savin, Malle and Tonbridge&Malling for a weekend of rededication and celebration of the mutual links. On the Friday the guests were treated to a sumptious buffet brunch on the square in front of the Baroque St Cecilia Church, catered by the restaurant Leone D'Oro. This included a concert by the town band. In the afternoon there was a walk to Patershausen, an old monastry which is now an organic farm, in the countryside south of Heusenstamm. The ramblers encountered some unusual creatures in the woods! The day was rounded off by a meal in Restaurant Martinsee, with live music.
The Saturday events started with lunch in the castle restaurant ARoMa. This was followed by the official part of the weekend, held at the Bannturm. Speeches by all Mayors and representatives of the four towns (unfortunately Ladispoli was unable to be present), interspersed with entertainment by local musicians, preceded the signing of renewed pledges of friendship and support and the exchange of gifts. The party then left the Bannturm for two more official occasions, the unveiling of the Freundschaftsbrücke in the Schlosswiesen (see attached photo) and the naming of the Saint Savinois Platz at the end of the Schlossallee.
The evening was rounded off with a party for the whole town as well as official guests, at the Bannturm, where the band played until late in the evening.
